BOOTH ASSIGNMENTS

ELIGIBILITY
The Big Chili Cook-off, Music and Arts Festival welcomes artists from
the arts and crafts mediums, exhibiting their own or their family’s or
company’s handmade works of art. We are looking for quality, originality and
creativity. Our ultimate goal is to produce a fine art show with handmade
products. We strictly limit but may accept some imported work by specific
invitation from the art committee. Work which is produced in mass production
or manufactured from a commercial mold, pattern or kit will not be accepted.
Approximately 35 artists will be accepted after a jury process.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Submit this application (click
here) with three 35mm slides or photographs, showing the work you will
sell at the Festival plus one showing your artwork within your display
booth. Print your name on the top front of each slide or picture and
indicate top with an arrow. A short explanation of your work may be
included.
2. Include your check payable to The Big Chili, Inc. for the booth fee
of $85.00 for outside or $100.00 for inside which will be deposited upon
acceptance in August or returned with notification letter. Expect
notification letters by August 10. Bounced check fee is $30. There is no
jury fee.
3. Application must include a legal size (4x9 and ½ inch) self-addressed
return envelope (SASE) with sufficient postage for slides and notification
letter. If you would prefer to have your photos returned the day of the
show, please indicate on application.
4. Booth assignments are made in August.

6. Due Date— all applications must be RECEIVED by August 15, 2008 and
are treated on a first come first serve basis for inside/outside preference.
SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
1. Members of The Big Chili, Inc. Art Committee will jury all
applications for the Art Show. Entries will be considered on work pictured
in the slides or photos. Participation in previous shows does not guarantee
acceptance. No conversation will be entered into regarding the decision of
the jury.
2. Acceptance/Rejection/Wait List letters will be mailed by the end of
August. Slides will be returned with notification letters, along with the
undeposited booth fee of non-accepted or wait-listed artists.
3. Exhibitors may cancel up to August 20, 2008 with a full refund of
their booth fee. Cancellations must be made in writing or by personal
contact with the show director.
4. Space assignments will be disclosed when you arrive at check-in.
There is no rain date and no refunds for bad weather. A 10’ x 10’ tent must
be included in the setup for outside booths.
EXHIBIT SPACE AND RULES
1. NO ANIMALS allowed on the property or at the show! Leave your pets at
home.
2. 11 freestanding booths are located inside the Evergreen Lake House.
Approximately, 24 booth sites are located outside the Lake house. Booth
set-up may begin after check-in Sunday at 8 am thru 10:30 am. You will
receive parking and unloading instructions prior to the event.
3. Booths are 10 feet x 10 feet. All art, personal belongings, chairs; etc.
must be contained within the space.
4. No nails may be driven into the wood or carpeted floors. Exhibitors must
clean up their space at the end of the show. Tents must be erected outside
so that artists are prepared for rain, wind and sun. Electricity is
available but artists must provide necessary extension cords.
5. Artists should personally be in attendance in their booths through out
the show.
6. Exhibitors are encouraged to demonstrate how they create their crafts if
they please.
7. Artists are responsible for their own 10x10 foot booth and its set-up and
takedown. Security is minimal.
8. Sales tax in the amount of 4.2% must be collected on each sale. Each
exhibitor is required to have a Colorado Sale tax license. Sales tax forms
will be provided in your Check-in packet. Artists are responsible for
filling this form out and mailing it in.
9. All artists are asked to donate an item to be placed in a silent auction
that will be on display during the art show. The proceeds of the silent
auction go to the firefighter’s fund. The silent auction also serves as an
advertisement for the show and artists.
10. All proceeds from The Big Chili, Inc. go to area firefighters. All board
members of the Big Chili, Inc. are volunteers donating their time and energy
for the cause. Everyone working at the Big Chili, Inc is a volunteer
donating their time and energy for the cause.
