Q. Why sponsor the Big Chili Cook-Off Music
and Arts Festival?
For the 2012 event, our beneficiaries will include local charities and the Elk Creek,
Evergreen, Indian Hills, Inter-Canyon, North Fork and Platte Canyon Mountain Area Fire Districts. Money received from the community will be used
to address purchases that tax dollars do not cover, such as special fire
resistant clothing, boots, wildland tools, new and improved fire fighting
equipment, clothing, computers, SCBA cascade systems (fills oxygen tanks for
fire fighters), new cardiac monitors, new radio systems, replacing mobile
radios in trucks and ambulances, new pagers and chargers, portable radios,
updating old bunker gear, fire and rescue equipment and funds for training
opportunities. |
